Step up your pottery game in our 5-week Intermediate Pottery Class, perfect for those who can consistently throw various shapes. This workshop focuses on designing and creating your own unique dinner set, including four plates and four bowls.
 Over the duration of the class:
– you will explore advanced techniques and gain hands-on experience in creating functional pottery that reflects your personal style.
-you’ll learn the execution of different styles of plates and bowls using the wheel and hand-building techniques.
-You will focus on achieving consistency in form to reduce cracking, ensuring your pieces are both beautiful and durable.
-We’ll guide you through the finishing touches that elevate the aesthetics of your set, making it truly polished. Additionally, you’ll use specialized tools and hand techniques to achieve smooth, consistent results.

Bring your 50 lbs of preferred clay and personal tools. We will have basic tool kits and 50 lb boxes of clay available for purchase at the studio upon request.  You can pick up your pottery after we take your work through bisque. Everyone should be willing to dissect a few pieces along the way for educational purposes/ All bisque ware can be glazed and fired on-site for an additional cost. John will do a demo day the first week of class to review all the ways you can choose to create your dinner set design. You will get some practice in the first week, after the first class you will go home and choose your path of which you will need to review with John before starting week two.

John Campbell

John has been a full-time production potter in the Dallas area for 4 years. His work focuses on clean, consistent and functional forms. John is incredibly passionate about teaching ceramics whether it be introducing someone to the processes for the first time or sharing a new perspective on the craft with those who are more familiar with clay.
