Introduction to Slip Casting: Pouring, Processing and Finishing Techniques- February 18th 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM

The workshop will kick off with a comprehensive lesson on the attributes, preparation, and desired consistency of casting slip. With expert guidance, you will engage in the hands-on process of pouring slip and processing cups manually. Our skilled instructors will guide you through the techniques of extracting vessels without warping or tearing, refining seams, and adding personalized touches. As the workshop draws to a close, we will explore methods to control thickness, adding colorants using mason/ferro stains, and briefly touch upon tools to aid in processing slip-covered pieces for consistently exceptional outcomes.
