Throwing Larger – 3 week class
Prerequisite: Must have basic throwing skill.
Do you have trouble centering more than 3 pounds? I’ll help you get past that hurdle. You will double the amount of clay on the wheel and possibly triple. Each week we’ll delve into different ways to throw larger vessels.
Projects: Platter, planter and vase.
What to bring: 10# of clay each week, calipers or ruler, throwing stick, sponge on a stick. If you don’t have a heat gun or propane torch, you can share mine. Basic throwing tools will be available or bring your own.
Bisque firing is included.
We’ll contact you when the pieces are bisque fired and ready for pickup.

Instructor Bio
Kay Bernier
Kay has a collective 30+ years of experience in ceramics and has been teaching for 12. She has always been a maker and enjoys the thoughtfulness ceramics requires of her. She enjoys finding new forms and functionalities to explore. Her practice hones in on the design and function of a piece, and is then defined by the iterative process of making and remaking until the design, form and function all fit together to make a piece complete. She has taught all over the Dallas area in studios and privately since 2011.
