Throwing Tall and Narrow Vessels – Wednesdays, December 4th -18th, 7:00pm – 9:30pm

$150.00

3-week course, December 4th - 18th
Wednesdays, 7:00am - 9:30pm

Are you ready to elevate your pottery skills to new heights? Our Intermediate Pottery Class focuses on the art of throwing tall and narrow vessels. This class is designed for students who have a solid grasp on the basics of throwing and are looking to refine their techniques.

In this course, you will learn:

  • Centering larger lumps of clay for taller projects
  • Techniques for pulling up walls to achieve greater height without losing stability
  • Maintaining uniform wall thickness from base to rim
  • Using specialized tools and hand techniques for smooth and consistent results

One of the great things about this class is that you don’t need to use much clay to practice and master these skills. By focusing on technique rather than volume, you’ll discover how to make the most of your materials.

Bring your 25 lbs of preferred clay and personal tools. We will have basic tool kits and 25 lb bags of clay available for purchase at the studio upon request.  You can pick up your pottery after we take your work through bisque. Everyone should be willing to dissect a few pieces along the way for educational purposes. All bisque ware can be glazed and fired on-site for an additional cost.
