Just had the pleasure of taking the Pottery Basics class with Melissa on Tuesday nights and it was hands down the most fun and informative 6 week class I’ve ever had. She was engaging, fun, and extremely helpful! She took the time to meet you at your level and made it fun for everyone! I would definitely recommend this class 10 times out of 10 for anyone looking to get into pottery or looking to brush up on their skills! Melissa is awesome!

The studio is huge, very well stocked, very comprehensive regarding equipment and tools, and will accommodate any ceramic style or technique (wheel throwing, hand building, slab, sculpture, and slip mold).

The people that go to classes and/or members (there is a variety of membership plans or just classes or firing service) are super nice. There is a sense of belonging and community that (I think) is rare.

It is a super cool place that has it all. If you are a new ceramic artist or have been doing for years but just want a place to practice, you should really check it out.

Only shop in DFW that I could find that lets you just WORK. All these other ones are class oriented and cost two eyes and a left butt cheek. Here it’s $25 and the whole day is yours do whatever. Fantastic place. 10/10 would recommend though to anyone.

Excellent studio for learning or practicing your Ceramics’s craft! John and Erin are very knowledgeable, gifted and generous in sharing their talents! Studio is very spacious and clean. Lots of wheels and space for hand building and John fires everything himself. I just took a class here with a guest artist and learned so much about sculpture. Check them out.

I went to their Valentine’s Day class with my girlfriend, and it was a blast! They had delicious charcuterie boards and drinks, amazing teachers and a very clean, new studio space. I highly recommend it!!

Absolutely loved learning how to throw clay at this studio. Owner and instructor were super nice and provide a very laid back and supportive atmosphere. I definitely plan to get a membership.

My husband and I had a date night here at a beginners class, and we had so much fun! Laid back atmosphere, and the instructors were friendly and very helpful. We will definitely sign up for another class!

FCS Clayworks is magical. I have always been interested in throwing, and took a 6 week intro class last fall. I can’t stop throwing now, and truly love it so much. Everyone is so helpful with a new potter like me as well. The absolute most incredible place.

The wheel throwing pottery class was so fun and the space is beautiful and inspiring.

This place is fantastic- right when you walk in you discover the passion and love involved in ceramics. The people are eager to help and want you to learn. Highly recommend if you are looking for an accommodating space with a down-to-Earth vibe.

I have been bringing my work in for firing services for years now. John is extremely knowledgeable and skilled in this craft, so I completely trust my work in his hands. The studio is organized, clean, and well equipped. If you ever want to talk about pottery, learn to make various types of vessels or troubleshoot clay/glaze issues, John and his team are your go to peeps for that.

I started working with John for firing pieces I made in my home studio (aka garage). Over time, I got to know John and have come to rely on and trust him completely with my work. When FCS Clayworks opened, I was interested in learning more. I participated in weekend workshops and one-on-ones with John directly. I enjoyed the experience so much I decided to become a member. I highly recommend FCS Clayworks, John, and the team there without reservation. IMHO there is no better place to grow, learn, and experience the clay community in the metroplex.

I met John shopping at Good Local Markets a few summers ago and was so excited to he was opening a studio. A complete novice at throwing pottery on a wheel I signed up for the 6 week course with Kelly and it was wonderful. Gained a lot of introductory knowledge, enjoyed the intimate class size, instruction and really learned a lot about this beautiful art!
