Maintenance: Discover the importance of regular maintenance to ensure your kiln’s longevity and safety. We’ll cover cleaning, checking wiring, and replacing relays, thermocouples and elements. How to take care of loose or busted bricks as well as maintaining elements so they stay in good health.

Loading Techniques: Understand the art of loading a kiln for optimal firing results. We’ll review different stacking techniques, shelf preparation, and kiln furniture usage.

Operating a Kiln: Gain hands-on experience with firing schedules, temperature control, and kiln safety protocols. We’ll guide you through the entire firing process and its complexities.

John has been a full-time production potter in the Dallas area for 4 years. His work focuses on clean, consistent and functional forms. John is incredibly passionate about teaching ceramics whether it be introducing someone to the processes for the first time or sharing a new perspective on the craft with those who are more familiar with clay.
