This class is a wonderful, natural next step in your throwing education. It is perfect for those who have given the wheel a spin and are ready to continue growing their skills. This 5-week class with Katey is designed for beginner-to-intermediate potters who want to advance their practice and refine their technique. Class will focus on refining foundational forms to achieve more height and consistency. Students will also dive deeper into trimming techniques and handle pulling.
In this class, students can expect to build on functional shapes such as mugs, vases, and pitchers, as well as simple lidded vessels such as salt or sugar jars. This class is a great way to expand your wheel practice with supportive, step-by-step instruction.
It is recommended that students arrive to the first class with fundamental wheel throwing skills including wedging, centering and pulling up basic cylinders and bowls.
